//STILL ALIVE

At first sight the picture above seems to depict a classic still life as the ones that were painted by the great masters centuries ago. However, in contrast to most objects in still life paintings that have no function these objects were designed to be mainly functional, as the title of this series already suggests: Still Alive. It is a set of office storage appliances designed by designer Antonio Arico for the Italian company Seletti. Usually the things that you put on your desk are not the most aesthetically pleasing things to look at, however with these items it suddenly becomes a lot more fun to organize your working space. The set includes among others: a wooden vase, a brass cup, a wooden pencil box and a porcelain bottle. By playing with these objects it becomes possible to become a great master yourself by creating and adjusting a still life over and over again.
