These beautiful photographs were taken in the 1930’s by Herta Moselsio of Martha Graham, one of the most influential dancers of the twentieth century and The Mother of modern dance. Graham is performing one of her iconic pieces, Lamentation No. 15, sculpting a multitude of different shapes through movement. Evoking so much emotion and intensity with nothing more than just her body and some dark stretch fabric. It is an intersection of theatre/dance/fashion/sculpture.
