//ADRIANUS KUNDERT

Adrianus Kundert designs rugs, or floor coverings as he calls them, with a very interesting vision in mind. What Kundert does is reversing the process by which textiles that are used become damaged and lose their value over time. He calls them ripening rugs. The technique that is used for these rugs to ripen is developed specially by Kundert for this project. These are yarns and weaves that, once they become 'damaged', open up and reveal a different colour or pattern. In that way the rugs increase in beauty depending on the frequency of their use.
