//LADY GALAXY 84

- Breaking rules by exploring and experimenting different digital and hand knitting techniques. -

The Dutch born knitwear designer Nanette Lindeman with a degree in Fashion Industry at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and a Master in Fashion Knitwear Design at Nottingham Trent University, England, transforms her creative process in a mysterious alchemy path where the classical knitwear knowledge meets the future, inside the powerful virtual world. In her knitwear sculptures, Nanette Lindeman explores inner-stellar graphical elements, bold colors and 'laboratory cultivated' yarns to create new multiple knitwear layers and forecast elements, that represent future, present and past influences like the 80’s exuberant ones. When shaping her collection, Nanette uses the instrument of abstraction,creating an alter ego „Lady Galaxy 84” to conduct the collection to the concept. The abstraction thus becomes a creative medium that leads the designer to define a concept. Her alter ego travels from atmospheres to colors, from odd graphics to silhouettes, in the virtual world as a place where Lindeman can create surreal and magical dreams, fighting all deceptions. A virtual expression of that fleeting moment when the present meets the future.
