//WEEKLY ART REPORT

Andre Kruysen I a Dutch artist who lives and works in The Hague. He is a sculptor who builds architectural structures. He does this in such a way that the incoming light is formed a new way. Kruysen: ‘my work relates itself to the striking of daylight, and the structure of architecture that surrounds me. I create interventions in spaces that enhance these aspects. These interventions can result in being solo in the space as well as fused with the space. My complex and chaotic ‘form language’ stems from the increase of complexity within our current image culture. The search for a balance within this disbalance in our culture, finds it’s shape within my work. Amidst my disturbance of the surrounded architecture I search for the stillness; the stillness that occurs through the sacral incoming of daylight. This contradiction is the basis of all my structural work.
