//VETEMENTS FALL 17

“I got tired of just doing hoodies and underground clubs; we’ve done that at Vetements,” Demna Gvasalia said. For the fall 17 collection, he selected some inspiring characters to build his collection on.  A reappropriation of something which already exists, dress codes where people live by called 'social uniforms' according to Gvasalia.

The collection is also inspired by Rotterdam artist Arie Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek their series 'Exactitudes'. Exactitudes is a photography project about stereotypes, this photo project started in 1994. For this project Versluis and Uyttenbroek categories people on how they dress it's an anthropological study of every social group and subculture.
