//THE FUCKING FROMAGE

At the moment I am writing you from the countryside of France. The parents of one of my dearest friends have moved here. They have created an idyllic getaway. In a small village close to the border of Belgium they live in a typical French cottage. With a big fireplace, a forest as a garden and a big collection of wine.
I love to come here because of the peace and quiet. Once you have reached the house the rest of world feels so far away. There is no plan no agenda nothing.
Naturally there are many thinks to look forward to like a big hike or a good slow dinner with lots of wine and good stories. But one of my favorite things about this country is definitely the cheese.
The smellier the better! I can get exited about the supermarket looking through all the different shapes and sizes. But also the ones that just end up on the table because her mother collected them. Trying a new cheese is the best! From the sticky substance to the intense smells, I love it all.

 I know we have great cheese in Holland but French cheese just tastes better in France. So my plan this week is to stop time and indulge in the world of stinky cheese.

Because I wanted to leave with a little hint of esthetic here, I picked these photos of Manny Rodriguez. He calls his work gastrofotonomia.
Especially his series about cheese are great, they show the mightiness of cheese in my opinion. I wish you all a similar stinky week!
