//MONDAY MUSING

Brooklyn-based design studio Apparatus was founded five years ago by Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson when the couple - a former fashion designer and a pr-executive - began experimenting with old industrial materials because they couldn’t find light-fixtures they liked for their apartment in Los Angeles. Today, the duo run a successful business in Manhattan, overseeing a staff of 25 and producing not only lighting, but also furniture, objects and wallpaper. All with a Modernist approach. What sets Apparatus apart is that their aesthetic is minimal and modern yet warm and playful at the same time. At the same time, their use of materials like unfinished metal, copper and horsehair give the products a raw and luxurious feel.
