My eye fell on a series of illuminating boxes in amazing soft gradient colour combinations. When I looked up who designed them I found out it was the work of a Japanese design studio called Nendo that collaborated with Italian company Glas Italia. The collection of boxes, which are designed as tables, is titled Soft and was presented at the Milan Design Week in April 2015. Oki Sato who is the founder of Nendo explains that the boxes are manufactured through an extremely difficult technique of printing colour on the edges of glass. I think it is an achievement that there is hardly any reference to glass that can be recognized in these matt boxes.
