//NATURALIS LEIDEN

It's always a great idea to visit other cities then the city you live in. On a rainy Tuesday I paid a visit to Leiden. Of course this wasn't my first time in this beautiful city. A university city since 1575, Leiden houses Leiden University, the oldest university of the Netherlands, and Leiden University Medical Centre. It is twinned with Oxford, the location of England's oldest university. Leiden is located on the Old Rhine; this means the city is full of small canals and bridges which give a very cosy vibe. In the city centre you can find historical architecture and lots of boutiques. I found a super funny second hand shop that sold vintage furniture from the university and lots of other vintage treasures.

Laces you must visit when in Leiden are various museums, National Museum of Antiquities, National Museum of Ethnology, Leiden American Pilgrim Museum, Academic Historical Museum and Naturalis. A lot of history houses in these museums, I paid a visit to Naturalis. Naturalis Biodiversity Centre: 'for everyone who is interested in life that was, is and will be'. Scientific research aims to understand the development of biodiversity and the interaction between species. The natural history collection of Naturalis Biodiversity Centre is the 5th largest in the world with 37 million objects.

Visiting address: Darwinweg 2, 2333 CR Leiden
