Ira Chernova is a heavily tattooed Russian who’s both a well-known model and a highly talented monochrome portrait and fashion photographer. She became interested in photography after realizing she needed something else to channel her energy into besides studying engineering. Chernova gained attention for her moody, highly intuitive, and largely black-and-white portraits. Based in New York, Chernova has already worked with some big names in the fashion industry, both behind and in front of the camera. She’s a huge music lover and toured with experimental metal band “The Dillinger Escape Plan” and rock band “Cage The Elephant”. Chernova is an excellent example of that you can find success doing what you love. She loves to work with natural light, prefer using film cameras, and not much into planning because everything can go wrong when you do too much planning. She just goes with the flow.
